Whistler ("Whistler's Mother") --
A Hudson River artist.
The Hazel Hough Wing,
more than doubling the size of the original building, opened in
March 2008. A spectacular glass conservatory joins the wing and
of the original building, offering an incredible view of the
downtown waterfront. The MFA's own collection is first-class.
Featured are important works by Monet, Gauguin, Renoir, Morisot,
Cezanne, Rodin, Bourdelle, Hassam, Henri, Bellows, O'Keefe, and
Andrew Wyeth.
The MFA café serves
lunches that are themselves works of art.
After the museum we will
go to the Vinoy Art Festival (instead of our usual Spring Winter
Park trip).
We will leave
Saddlebrook promptly at 8:30 am and be home around 6:00 pm
