Please Help Us Help The Relay For Life Of The Villages
This year the VAA is helping the Villages Relay For Life team to
raise money for the American Cancer Society. We are asking for
your help in the form of a donation of a piece of art to be
auctioned off. It can be a print or original, framed or
unframed. Artwork for the auction will be collected on March 19,
1 P.M. at the VAA meeting at La Hacienda.
The art auction will be held on April 9 & 10 in conjunction with
a concert by Norman Lee at The Garden Worship Center in Bellview.
Tickets for Norman's concert will be available at the VAA
meeting for $10 each. Any artwork not sold at the auction will
be donated to the church for a sale later to benefit the church.
Relay for Life of the Villages is an annual event involving
thousands of Village residents and their families. Each year,
teams from the community spend months raising funds for the
American Cancer Society and then gather together for an
overnight event that symbolizes the non-stop journey for a cure.
At the Relay, survivors are honored, loved ones are remembered,
and our teams walk all night in support to all those with this
disease. We laugh, we cry, we become allies in hope to find a
cure. This year the Relay will begin April 23, 3 P.M. at the
Villages Charter High School. Over the past six years, The
Villages Relay has raised over 1.8 million dollars for research,
patient services, advocacy and education for cancer prevention
and treatment.
We invite you to join us in this amazing and life changing
event. For more information please contact our Villages Relay
for Life website at
